anniversary of the passage of the ADA

Today is the 22nd anniversary of the passage of the Americans with Disabilities Act, an incredible law that has lost its teeth because of a lack of support in the Supreme Court.

To celebrate the spirit of the ADA, take a look at this video (recently posted on Feminist Philosophers) featuring activists who talk about what disability pride means to them.

Earlier today, the U.S. Census Bureau announced that nearly 1 in 5 persons in the United States experience disability.
